You are currently viewing The Story of the Loyal Advisor and the Hungry Dogs

Once upon a time, in a kingdom where honesty was valued, there lived a king who trusted his advisor more than anyone else. The advisor was known for his integrity and wisdom, which made some people jealous. They envied the close bond between the king and his advisor and wanted to break it.

These jealous folks came up with a plan to make the king doubt his advisor’s loyalty. They spread lies and made false accusations, painting the advisor as a traitor. The king, believing their words, felt betrayed and decided to punish his trusted advisor severely.

He ordered that the advisor be thrown into a cage with hungry dogs, a punishment that would surely end in death. Despite the unjust verdict, the advisor remained calm and asked the king for just ten more days before the punishment was carried out. Surprisingly, the king agreed.

When the day of punishment arrived, the advisor was put into the cage with the hungry dogs, in front of the king and the people. But instead of attacking him, the dogs wagged their tails and showed affection towards him.

Shocked and confused, the king asked the advisor why the dogs didn’t harm him. The advisor explained that

During these ten days, I have spent time caring for them. He fed them, played with them, and showed them love and kindness, and in return, they had become his friends.

He then pointed out to the king that despite years of loyalty and guidance, he had been quick to believe false accusations against him. The king realized his mistake and apologized to the advisor. He not only set him free but also punished those who had plotted against him.

The moral of the story is that sometimes actions speak louder than words. Showing kindness and loyalty can win hearts and change minds more effectively than arguments or accusations.
